The ITA received the 2015 Best of California award for Best Data Analytics Project on behalf of the City of LA for its Vision Zero research project to reduce LA pedestrian and cyclist fatalities. Sponsored by the Office of Mayor Eric Garcetti and Councilman Paul Krekorian, the project was a partnership between the University of Southern California, Department of Transportation, LAPD, and ITA to use advanced data analysis to identify risk factors, causes, and preventative measures.
