Introducing... Alexa for the City of Los Angeles!

City Hall

Recently, the City of Los Angeles was named America’s top digital city by the Center for Digital Government in the 2016 Digital Cities Survey. In an effort to stay at the forefront of technology, the City of L.A. has integrated the City's Calendar with Alexa, a digital assistant developed by Amazon.com and made popular by the Amazon Echo device. The "Ask Alexa" integration is the beginning of a new channel for residents to receive information from the City of Los Angeles.

Currently, Angelenos with an Amazon Echo, Amazon Dot, or any other Alexa enabled device can use Alexa to "Ask L.A. City" about featured holiday events occurring within the City. Many more features and information will be coming in the near future.

Instructions

To enable the skill on your Alexa enabled device, just say "Alexa, enable L.A. City skill."
